I always test type 5 and type 1. Even when I took the "official" test that costs $12 (I can't remember the name right now), types 5 and 1 were tied for first place. I just go with type 5 since it seems to fit the best.
From what I understand, type 5 dynamics are supposed to be all in the mind, but I know for a fact that I avoid social situations because they genuinely are overwhelming. I tend to have negative situations involuntarily replaying in my mind over and over again, for months and sometimes years, and every time the memory replays, I re-experience the negative emotions. This happens with positive things too. It's not rumination. I've researched it a lot and couldn't find any description or treatment that was relevant or helpful. I'm pretty sure it's related to a neurological condition I was recently diagnosed with. Repetitive thoughts, difficulty managing emotions, and sensory overload are associated with this condition.
So type 5 fits me superficially, but I can't make any use of the advice for type 5. Type 5s are supposed to try things out and thereby learn from experience that they won't be engulfed or overwhelmed, but obviously I can't learn that lesson if it never happens that way.
Probably all the typology stuff was designed with typical neurology in mind.
